New revision of Charity Commission guidance on good governance

The Charity Commission has updated its landmark publication The Hallmarks of an Effective Charity.  Also known as CC10, the document outlines six principles of good governance for charities:

  • A clear purpose and direction
  • A strong board
  • Structures and procedures that are ‘fit-for-purpose'
  • A commitment to learning and improving
  • To be financially sound and prudent
  • Adherence to accountability and transparency.
